What we do here at Navajeevana?
The intention of Navajeevana is to give the children a homely atmosphere for the Endosulfan survivors. The centre today hosts more than 38 children during the day by picking up them from nearby places to a distance of even 45 k.m. Navajeevana offers them a new world of fun in the company of many others of their age and situation. They are given physio-therapy and speech therapy so that two of their most vulnerable problems are addressed. There are a number of incidents where bedridden children could stand and attempted to walk as a result of physio-therapy and the loving care they receive at the centre. They are given life-skills trainings and most of them have turned out to be dancers and singers in their little world, thanks to the training and patience offered to them by the staff of Navajeevana. Navajeevana is specific about the food given to its children; the children here are fed with homely food. It never accepts food from outside due to hygienic and healthy issues. What makes Navajeevana different from that of the other centers run for this cause is that it does not demand and receive any fee from any one of the children who come to it. It runs solely on the donations given by the well-wishers.
